The Research of Free-Trading Apps: The growing impact for better or for worse?
I chose to do my project on the research of free-trading apps: The growing impact for better or for worse? For decades, it was believe that trading companies stocks was only for Wall Street personals or with those with large amount of money. However in recent months new trading apps has enter the consumer market allowing easy sign ups, no commissions, and even buy a piece of a stock at just one dollar. Free-Trading applications has created a new phenomenon where anyone can chase the "American Dream." Many people argue it gives people a chance to grow their wealth but other say that it's a dangerous game as many already lost their life savings. I will be researching the effects of free-trading apps in multiple perspective: the economic perspective, technological perspective, as well as the sociological and educational perspective. I research how the professional and a beginner trader are reacting to this, as well as who are the winners and losers of this new media. I will plan to go over all these perspective and go in more in depth using creditable sources as well as first hand experiences. Stay tune.
Hi Michael. I personally use Robinhood as a free-trading app because it is super user friendly and, like you said, it allows you to purchase % of stocks. I think this is a great topic and can be of use for everyone.
